Liqpass is a simple compass app that points toward the nearest open liquor store. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens with your data when you use the app.
We don't collect, store, sell, or share any personal data. Your location stays on your device, except for one anonymous query sent to OpenStreetMap to look up nearby stores. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no ads.
Liqpass requests one permission: location (GPS). We use it for one purpose: to find liquor stores near you and calculate the direction the compass needle should point.
The app also reads your device's compass sensor (magnetometer) so the needle rotates as you turn your phone. No permission is required for this on Android, and no compass data ever leaves your device.
To find nearby stores, the app sends your approximate location (latitude and longitude, rounded to a 5–15 km bounding box) to the Overpass API, a free public service that queries the OpenStreetMap database.
Overpass receives only the bounding box of your search area, not your precise coordinates. The query is anonymous — no user identifier, account, or device ID is included. Overpass's own privacy policy applies to that request; see openstreetmap.org/copyright .
Nothing. Liqpass has no backend, no database, and no user accounts. Your location is held in memory only while the app is open and is discarded when you close it.
None. Liqpass does not include analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash reporters, or any third-party tracking.
Liqpass is intended for users of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. The app is not directed at children under 18 (or 21 where applicable) and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone — minor or adult.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised and the new version will be posted at this URL. Substantive changes will be announced in the app's release notes on Google Play.
